Do you or employees in your organization face “election anxiety”? According to USA Today, 40% of Americans reported signs of anxiety and depression around elections while a spring 2024 poll of 1,600 voters by Yahoo News responded that they felt "very" or "somewhat" anxious about the upcoming presidential contest.

But it goes beyond just election anxieties. Employees, especially on global teams, are constantly facing turbulent political and world events from rising inflation to environmental disasters. Such feelings of uncertainty and anxiousness can have a significant impact on the psychological safety of our team members both in the workplace and beyond. As for the business case, Psychology Today states that “the cognitive symptoms of anxiety are often the biggest obstacles to productivity.”

While we know that many of these events are out of our control, what is under our control is how we can address these issues in the workplace by providing a safe place for feedback, understanding, and sensitivity.

During this leadership forum, we will discuss:

  • Understanding Election Anxiety: Gain insights into how election cycles and global events can trigger anxiety and impact mental health, both inside and outside the workplace.
  • Creating Psychological Safety: Discover strategies for fostering psychological safety in the workplace, allowing team members to express concerns and feedback without fear of judgment.
  • Global Team Sensitivity: Explore the challenges faced by global teams dealing with diverse political climates and world events, and how leaders can offer support and understanding.
  • Proactive Leadership: Identify actionable steps leaders can take to address anxiety and uncertainty among team members, helping to build a more resilient and supportive work environment.

And while we will not discuss politics themselves or any candidates, this is an open forum for one to learn from each other how to support our teams and workforce in a safe, inclusive environment.

Join us for this interactive discussion with fellow leaders!

Please note: This event will NOT be recorded as it is intended to be a closed & confidential discussion to share ideas in a safe space.
