Let's say that the employee has taken the time to do inner/personal work & has gained much empathy, self-awareness, etc.; but the boss/manager isn't willing to engage in "that hippy sh*t" (literally how one of my former managers referred to counseling /therapy)--let alone conflict resolution. For whatever reason, let's assume employee isn't able to leave the position at that time. At what point should the employee engage with HR? And HOW should the employee take that action?
