You will:
• Implement performance critical algorithms that handles large amount of data or large number of files
• Shape the tooling and technology landscape enabling better business- and development processes
• Contribute to team dynamics through mentoring, active participation in design discussions, and conducting comprehensive code reviews
• Develop a platform and APIs that let the users access our data
• Maintain and support existing processes, data flows #LI-FT1
You have:
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in Linux, OS fundamentals, software design.
• Ability to work in a Linux based server-side environment.
• Cognizance of OS fundamentals, including memory management, process scheduling, file system operations and networking
• Willingness to work with an exotic functional programming language. Previous experience in functional programming is a plus (Erlang, Haskell, Lisp, Scala, R, etc.)
• Robust understanding of software engineering principles and best practices, emphasizing the importance of maintainable and scalable code
You might also have:
• Experience with databases (either relational or any NoSQL)
• Experience in Java development
• Python/Bash scripting knowledge
• Experience with KDB+/Q
• Experience with AWS IaaS technologies
Team Profile:
The Global Risk Store team is responsible for collecting and distributing position, risk and profit-and-loss data for the Equities Derivatives trading division. Our data warehouse captures billions of records every day, and we feed information to the trading desk as well as to the back office. We are in interaction with many other teams and systems within the Firm.
The platform uses KDB+ and the associated Q language extensively together with Java and other technologies. Our team is located at Budapest, London, and New York (12 developers).
The successful candidate will work on our core infrastructure, contributing to many different parts of our technology stack. BPTECH
