Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a high caliber Staff Supplier Quality Engineer with a background in Supplier Quality Management, RCCA, Quality Auditing with microelectronics background to join the Supplier Performance Team in Woodland Hills, CA
- Bachelor's degree in STEM related field and 14 years of related experience in supporting mission/quality assurance, microelectronics, electrical engineering, process engineering or manufacturing. 12 years with a Master's degree in a STEM related field; 9 years with a PhD in a STEM related field.
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills and confidence to brief senior management with solid foundation in supplier quality engineering.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements
-Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Demonstrate skill to lead teams and projects
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Defense industry working experience
- Six Sigma or Lean concept
- Certificate in IPC610, 620 and MILSTD883.
- Process knowledge/manufacturing engineering experience in the manufacture of microelectronics
- AS9100 Lead Auditor
Salary Range: $146,000 - $219,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Independently analyze and interpret data to identify performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals.
- Strong ability to drive team initiatives and projects from cradle to grave, providing team members inputs to keep projects on track.
- Capable of facilitating RCCA activities, and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities with internal and external teams.
- Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify internal and/or suppliers' process issues and developing solutions.
- Lead supplier engagements, including supplier performance reviews and Quality System audits.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written). Have the ability to develop presentation and present in front of all levels of leadership.
- Develop training material, deliver training to large audience and mentor engineers when needed.
- Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit our suppliers' processes and capabilities, especially with electrical and microelectronics suppliers.
- Effectively perform supplier surveillance activities designed to manage and improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation.
- Ability to perform data packet reviews, First Article Inspections or source inspections.
- Understands general contracting principles in a Department of Defense and commercial environment
- Establish positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams
- Collaborate in a team environment, negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project results.
