How will you make an impact in this role? The Global Tax Accounting and Reporting function is primarily responsible for the income tax accounting and related financial reporting disclosures of American Express. The Tax Accountant in this role will gain a comprehensive understanding of the financial reporting impacts of tax and will have the opportunity to work closely with various tax teams as well as the broader finance organization. Responsibilities Include:
- Support an efficient tax close through the timely completion of the tax provision and journal entries, and the preparation of related financial reporting disclosures.
- Prepare materials relating to the quarterly reporting of tax results to senior business leaders.
- Manage software systems that support the calculation and reporting of the global income tax provision and tax reserves.
- Partner across the Global Tax and the broader Finance organization to maintain process and control documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Required
- CPA track and/or Master's in Taxation or Accounting is a plus
- Prior experience with a multinational financial services company and/or Big 4 firm preferred
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience using Oracle and OneSource Tax Provision a plus
