What You Will Do: As a Senior CAD/CAE Designer in Orthopaedic Instruments, you will prepare product designs, layouts, drawings, BOMs, design fixtures and equipment/software according to engineering specifications. Using appropriate design software systems and internal processes, you will translate design inputs into features and outputs ensuring optimal manufacturability, and compliance to regulatory and quality systems are achieved. Additional responsibilities may require you to:
- Coordinate with appropriate units of the business to evaluate outputs and deliverables for integrity, function, durability, and manufacturability.
- Review engineering documents and supporting documents to verify design integrity and adherence to company and industry standard.
- Analyze documentation and confer with engineering staff to resolve details not completely captured or defined in specifications.
- Use CAD or appropriate software tools to manipulate models and designs to meet new specifications as required.
- Submit engineering drawings and documentation through appropriate control and approval processes.
- May write or support engineering change order for R&D.
- Interact with internal stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of prototypes and models.
- Contribute to assembly, test, and design analysis.
- High School Diploma with 15+ years of work experience
- OR Associate’s degree/ Technical Certification with 10+ years of work experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree (plus any additional years of relevant work experience required for the position)
- 4+ years CAD or CAE or software experience
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering Graphics or related curriculum preferred
- Excellent mechanical design solving skills
- Excellent CAD or related software skills
