We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team in Glen Burnie, MD. $5000.00 Sign on Bonus! This is a resident tech role which will report to Montgomery County In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: · Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop · Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools. · Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles. · Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies. · Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products · Maintain own tools. In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: (Entry): · Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics · Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality. (Intermediate): · Completes complex internal engine repairs. · Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision. (Advanced): · Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools · Larger more complicated engine rebuilds. · Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation. Education, Licenses, Certifications Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)Vocational diploma from relevant technical institutionLocally valid driving permit (Preferred)This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine productsExperience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)Valid Drivers license with no restrictions required.
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
