The product engineer for applied data science will perform a wide variety of statistical and analytical techniques using the ArcGIS API for Python and other Web GIS tools along with other open source or proprietary analytic tools and capabilities. All work performed in this role is from the perspective of a customer-user in the role of a data scientist. From this perspective, the overarching goal of the Product Engineer is to create the right ArcGIS products and experiences to meet the analytic needs across the various communities. This work will include performing, documenting and teaching a wide variety of technical tasks, developing best practices, creating tutorials and documentation, identifying new technical requirements, and improving the analysis tools and APIs.
Responsibilities- Write data science and machine learning samples using ArcGIS and open source ecosystem Author, maintain, and update unit tests and test assets and help maintain high quality assurance standards; execute tests using the continuous integration pipeline
- Certify the API ahead of product release cycles
- Participate in design, planning, development, and documentation of the ArcGIS API for Python by working closely with correspondent teams
- Plan, author, review, and maintain data science and administrative notebooks for ArcGIS Notebooks gallery
- Participate in design and development of ArcGIS Notebooks by working closely with enterprise, online and desktop product teams
- Can work remotely
- One (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained
- Applicants must also have demonstrated experience with the following: UI Testing; Selenium Web Driver; Java; and Software Development Life Cycle
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information sciences, GIS, or a related field of study
