Overview: Waters Corporation, Taunton, MA, has an opening position for a Column Packing Technical Support Staff. The successful applicant will have great opportunities to work, grow and learn from senior staff in the Column Packing Technical Support department. Column Packing Technical Support is a lean, 5S and innovative working environment. Responsibilities:
- Provide packed and efficiency tested columns to the QC lab for chromatographic batch testing.
- Work with Empower and NuGenesis SDMS software for testing columns and data management
- Involve with the transfer of new processes from R&D to manufacturing and transferring products from Taunton to Wexford.
- Perform a variety of complex experiments, design and carry out these experiments in relation to the development of new processes and improve existing products.
- Work to complete custom and production orders including packaging activities.
- Provide customer support by evaluating customer returned columns.
- Carry out general calibration and maintenance procedures on HPLC equipment.
- Revise and update procedures, implement changes to bill of materials (BOM) and document requirements for routings through the SAP-ECR system.
- Write technical and monthly reports.
- Must have comprehensive understanding of both column packing and column testing processes.
- Possess the ability to manipulate packing/testing processes to optimize and/or correct any issue related to the implementation of new products, new column configurations, or trouble shoot production problems.
- Experience with UPLC, HPLC, Analytical, Prep and Capillary Column Technology.
- Experience with Empower, NuGenesis SDMS, Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets, understanding of math, statistical functions, chemistry.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Willing to learn, innovate and adopt improvement changes
- Knowledge of appropriate Quality Standards (ISO9001, cGMP)
- Align with all Health & Safety requirements.
- The successful candidate will have a Bachelors/Associates Degree or equivalent in chemistry or mechanical engineering with 4 – 5 years of chemical manufacturing experience.
