About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use):10 Segment : S&P Global Sustainable1 The Role: Senior Software Developer The Team: We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled software engineer for Sustainable1. This developer would help us to accelerate our ESG Analytics work. The Impact: As a developer, you will be part of a development team that manages and supports the internal applications that is supporting ESG datasets. This role expects a candidate to handle any data processing, big data application development. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 3-6 years of experience in application development.
- Experience with Big Data platforms such as Databricks (Preferred), NiFi, Apache Hadoop, and Apache Spark.
- Strong Python/Scala/Java and SQL skills.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with messaging/stream processing engines like Kafka, Spark, etc.
- Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-driven development.
- Expertise in building event-driven scalable & resilient systems.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success while choosing the proper methodologies and policies to support broad business goals.
- Experience in the Financial services domain is a plus.
- Experience in Databricks and/or Snowflake.
- Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity and/or enthusiasm with Data Science / Machine Learning is a plus.
- Experience with terraform, CI/CD tools, and databases in general (rather than mentioning Cassandra and DynamoDB). I would add ‘clear communication’ and use of confluence as part of the SDLC / agile experience
