Position SummaryThis position provides financial analysis and support, financial process & reporting rigor, financial performance management, and direction to a path to achieve long-term goals focused on the following departments: Content Partnerships and Production. Major Responsibilities
- Support the development of the annual 3-year business plan & quarterly projection process, including revenue outlook, staffing/human resource plans, expense management, cash flow estimates, and new investment opportunity pitches
- Partner closely with Controllers Group during month end close process to ensure P&L accuracy. Jointly review revenue recognition, internal production billings, prepaid balance sheet account, purchase orders and open invoices to determine monthly entries. Prepare accruals and reclasses as needed.
- Support newly signed revenue contracts including tracking in a deal management system, reviewing and analyzing partner reporting, managing A/R aging schedules and collections.
- Perform monthly and quarterly financial tracking, reporting and variance analysis. Identify areas of risk or opportunity.
- Partner with Senior League Finance team members to communicate monthly results to Department Senior Management, NBA Finance/Accounting team, and supported business groups & sub-groups.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis & modeling for Finance and supported groups as needed.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in FP&A, Accounting or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively contribute in meetings with Finance and non-Finance attendees.
- Detail oriented, organized and demonstrates curiosity regarding league & department operations.
- Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills.
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related business field.
- Sport, Media or Events experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Knowledge of Adaptive Insights & OfficeConnect is a plus.
