Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a 2nd Shift Quality Manager 1, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Mission Assurance organization. This leadership role is located in Clearfield, UT.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily operations of the Quality Inspection team in ACCE (direct supervision of staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs).
- Promotes and monitors individual and team performance to the department SQDEC goals across multiple programs.
- Provides direction and feedback to subordinates using established policies and procedures.
- Develops a full working knowledge of procedures and practices related to NDI/Final Inspection processes and a deep understanding of customer and design requirements.
- Monitors, tracks, and reports the team performance on a daily basis and actively assists employees with tasks as required.
- Administers and executes company and department policies.
- Tracks and drives Quality initiatives, Corrective Actions, and Process Improvements.
- Collaborates with various IPT disciplines (engineering, quality, manufacturing, etc) to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in a quality role or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience in a quality role, work experience may be considered in lieu of degree if within the field of non-destructive inspection
- 2+ years experience managing/leading people
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP)
- Knowledge of visual and non-destructive inspection techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain a DoD clearance
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access
- Must be able to work second shift
- NDT Certification Level 2 or 3 (UT, IRT, or ST)
- Experience in Aerospace Composites manufacturing and/or inspection
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Strong team-building and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
