In this role the candidate will participate in multi-functional engineering teams to design, implement, test and sustain inertial navigation and navigation data distribution product lines. Responsibilities include new product development, inertial performance analysis, modeling and simulation, customer integration and troubleshooting, requirements development and analysis, and production/test support.This position is located in Charlottesville, VA. The position may be filled as an Inertial Systems Engineer or Principal Inertial Systems Engineer . Basic Qualifications for Inertial Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field and 2+ years of experience; 0 years of experience with Master's Degree
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated communication and documentation skills
- Team player who takes ownership of tasks and communicates well with the other team members
- Security Clearance: Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field and 5+ years of experience; 3+ years of experience with Master's Degree, or 0 years of experience with a PhD.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated communication and documentation skills
- Team player who takes ownership of tasks and communicates well with the other team members
- Security Clearance: Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
- Experience with model development using MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools
- Experience with requirements and test plan development
- Excellent communication skills to engage with the Engineering Team, stakeholders, customers and other contractors to meet program goals
- General understanding of inertial sensors and how they work
- Experience with US Navy and US Coast Guard programs
- Willingness to provide front-line support at customer labs, military bases, and ships
