Team Description The Senior Platform Technical Architect team is aligned to the most dynamic and exciting part of our business. As pre-sales engineers and architects, we partner with our customers to use Salesforce technology to drive digital transformation within their companies and support the sales team in winning new business. Role DescriptionPlatform Specialists are the solutions team members who know what’s possible and how to make it happen. Their deep technical, integration and product knowledge allows them to serve as subject matter experts on the account team, not only in terms of products and features, but also in how to craft the right solutions to satisfy both business and IT buyers. They are not afraid to dig into the inner workings of our platform to answer an exciting question or address an objection, and are equally as comfortable speaking to a new Salesforce admin as they are to the CIO or CTO. They are willing to be honest about potential challenges and always keep the long-term success of the customer in mind. People who enjoy both connecting to technology in a deep way and relating to people will excel in this role. Your Impact - Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a deep knowledge of Salesforce product offerings
- Understand the customer needs, establish salesforce leadership, and demonstrate SFDC’s products as the best solution that addresses the technical and business requirements
- Active contributor to the internal Technical Architect community by participating in calls, publishing reference architectures and creating decks and other reusable assets for technical topics
- Work closely with other elements of Salesforce.com, e.g. pre-sales teams, sales teams, enablement, product marketing, etc. to develop and execute internal and external programs and initiatives
- Participate in all appropriate product, sales, and procedural training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in the position
- Willing and able to travel to customers or Salesforce offices
- Be a force multiplier and have a passion for team and team members’ success by providing technical guidance, career development and mentoring
- Significant Sales/Solution Engineering or equivalent experience (IT, product management, consulting, etc.) with position offered commensurate to experience and skills
- Excellent customer-facing written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied environments
- Self-starter with proven ability to successfully kick-start new initiatives and to drive complex issues through analysis and resolution
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to support multiple, concurrent projects.

- Keep current with both partner and competitive technologies in order to put proposed solutions into the context of the broader technology landscape.
- Strong understanding of architectural design patterns include SOA, Micro-Services, object-oriented design patterns, common integration patterns, etc.
- A good understanding of the security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier, multi-tenant web applications – e.g. SSO, oAuth, SAML, LDAP, etc.
- Deep & practical knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges, or relevant work history
- Coding experience and a willingness to work with or demo code-centric solutions (APEX, Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or other modern languages)
- Understanding of risk mitigation, compliance and security.
