This position supports the Trusted Mission Processing (TMP) product area within the Mission Systems strategic business unit of Collins Aerospace, a RTX business. TMP provides secured processing platforms and capabilities to both domestic and international customers. This specific position will provide test software development and support to the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) sustainment program within the mission area. The successful candidate will have a proven track record designing, developing, and augmenting test software solutions that meet technical requirements within cost and schedule constraints. The candidate will learn existing test software solutions for specific hardware components to isolate hardware failures, implement test software improvements, integrate, test and deploy test software to support the production program requirements. The successful candidate must be able to collaborate and effectively communicate test software approach, constraints, and design/implementation rationale to varied audiences including program leadership, and multi-disciplined engineering teams. Candidate must also be able to implement the technical solution, perform thorough system integration, and demonstrate the test software capabilities as part of formal software validation tests. This position is eligible for relocation assistance. Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Proficient C, C++ programming experience.
- National Instruments TestStand/CVI development experience.
- Visual Basic (VB) Script experience.
- Experience with developing for a Windows Operating System environment.
- Ability to analyze, debug, and improve existing source code, and trouble-shoot test equipment.
- Embedded Special Test Equipment (STE) software development experience (direct control of hardware devices and registers).
- Good written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to document and effectively communicate software approach, constraints, design and rationale to various audiences.
- Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines to deliver solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
