WORK OPTION: In Office 4 days/week in New York, NY

Major Responsibilities:
Digital & Social Media Responsibilities
Providing daily content and product support for Youth Basketball Development and Social Responsibility digital platforms (websites, social media, apps)
Actively participating in digital content planning and strategy development for Jr. NBA and NBA Cares
Writing top stories, posting news, identifying/anticipating storylines, highlighting instructional content, curating and programming videos, editing photos/graphics and executing digital marketing plans Managing digital content for our events, campaigns and platforms, including but not limited to: Youth Basketball: Jr. NBA Leagues, Jr. NBA Conference, Jr. NBA Program of the Year, Jr. NBA Coach of the Year and Her Time To Play Social Responsibility: NBA Cares Community Assist Award, Hoops for Troops, NBA Cares Season of Giving, MLK Day, Black History Month, Women's History Month, AAPI Heritage Month, Pride Month and Juneteenth
Managing the Jr. NBA & NBA Cares Content Plans, including: Gathering league, team and player content for distribution
Presenting weekly content plan and monthly themes Working with the NBA Stats team to identify key milestones.
Tracking and providing feedback for development projects on Jira with Media Ops
Working with IT and Digital Media for technical innovations across platforms
Actively participating in meetings to better understand how content can best support multiple business objectives.
Event & Partner Management Responsibilities:
Assisting in developing, designing, and managing the execution of NBA and WNBA
Social Responsibility & Youth Basketball events and initiatives
Assisting in the management of NBA and WNBA Social Responsibility & Youth Basketball corporate partners and their deliverables Assisting with the League's work on sustainability and environmental awareness
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
Must be knowledgeable about NBA and WNBA players and teams
Knowledge of the youth basketball and community landscape preferred
Must have strong writing and communication skills Background in digital content production required
Must be proficient in HTML and WordPress
Content Management System
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop
Ability to utilize creative tools/programs to design and manage content files
Experience managing social accounts or social activations on behalf of a brand (can include college)
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, exercise flexibility as needed, communicate changes/updates to colleagues in a timely manner
Produce professional examples of live event coverage for multiple social platforms (can include college)
Experience writing for a third-party destination (not your own site) and have editorial samples
Ability and willingness to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and
detail-oriented approach
Ability and willingness to work both independently, and as part of a team
Understanding of social analytics & trends to optimize engagement including tailoring content for respective platforms
Ability to work nights and weekends
This position will require occasional travel
Experience Needed 2+ years of digital and social publishing experience
Editing and writing background in media (Internet, newspaper or magazine) required
Required Education/Professional Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
