This position is responsible for receiving and initiating calls with patients to collect payments and settle accounts. Follows-up on accounts, receives and processes payments, and updates incomplete and missing account information. Collaborates with patients to create payment arrangements and counsels’ patients on financial assistance programs. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 4:30pm CST, Monday – Thursday and 7:30am – 4:00pm CST, Fridays). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer 6 weeks of paid training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment. Training will be conducted virtually from your home. *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinates the resolution of unpaid accounts.
- Receives and resolves calls from patients, insurance companies, attorneys, and departments.
- Obtains and processes payments.
- Collaborates with patients to create payment arrangements.
- Updates incomplete and missing account information.
- Documents collection activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years experience in call center
- 1+ years experience in health insurance
- Ability to work 8:00am - 4:30pm CST, Monday – Thursday and 7:30am – 4:00pm CST, Fridays
- Ability to travel to 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407 to pick up equipment and/or complete training on day one
- 1+ years experience in collections
- 1+ years experience work in EPIC or other EMR systems
- Reside within the state of MN or WI
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
