This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. We offer 12 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am – 5:00pm CST, Monday – Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home. *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage administrative tasks for the Complex CARE clinical team
- Handle outbound calls to members and providers
- Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
- Check verification of eligibility for members as well as benefit information via various internal websites and applications
- Check discharge dates for inpatient stays
- Check Provider Network Status/Find Provider via network updates and calls to providers
- Research pended claims
- Update and verify transplant benefit information and viability
- Monitor Outlook inbox triaging questions
- Send faxes to providers as well as mail letters to members
- 1+ years of Medical assistant or CNA experience or Administrative experience within a medical setting
- Ability to create, copy, edit, send & save documents, spreadsheets and correspondence utilizing Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Outlook
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Ability to work Monday-Friday any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends
- Experience working within an oncology setting
- Previous experience working in a virtual environment
- Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
- A clerical or administrative support background
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
