- 2+ years of formal management and leadership experience. We would like to see that you can hire, on-board, manage and develop people and teams. Expected skills are recruiting, goal (KPIs) setting, performance review and management, compensation reviews and communication.
- 3+ years of experience working on medium to large complex desktop application, product or system that required regular releases, and continued support and maintenance.
- Strong senior or principal-level software development skills, with proficiency in one or more of OOP languages such as C++/Objective-C, Java, Kotlin, Swift, C# with preference for C++. An ideal candidate has 7+ years of software engineering experience working in software development teams.
- Experience in the areas of CAD, CAM, Nesting, Fabrication is a plus.
- BS, MS or PhD – Engineering or Computer Science is a typical qualification, but we are open to candidates who took other paths to the world of software engineering.
- Excellent debugging, testing, and technical problem-solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies.
- Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript, Python, Perl, and similar is a plus.
- Experience with scrum and agile development processes, methodologies and tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Carefully select and hire a team of software development engineers. Help them to on-board and quickly become effective by expediently obtaining domain, product and codebase knowledge and skills.
- Support, encourage and assist the members of an agile team. Use your experience and skills to help them with both technical and non-technical challenges.
- Mentor and coach software engineers, identify opportunities for individuals to grow within their role, including opportunities for training, challenging assignments, and new collaboration.
- Communicate with team members, provide feedback, conduct performance evaluation and compensation reviews.
- Work with product managers to set high-level goals and produce quarterly/yearly roadmaps. Organize and drive software development activities to continually make progress accordingly to the roadmap.
- Work with the product owner, scrum master and other stakeholders to help the team deliver working software every sprint and release capabilities at regular intervals.
- Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture. Foster continuous improvement and iteration.
- Be the spokesperson for the team, champion its accomplishments and struggles with management, stakeholders and adjacent teams.
- Maintain a competent level of technical expertise to work with team members and the broader Autodesk technical community.
- Guide the implementation of individual components and features with an emphasis on producing high quality, reusable software through the use of test-driven development and other sound software engineering practices.
