Beach Street , Haltom City, TX, 76137 USA Position Role Type:Onsite Collins Aerospace is looking for a Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer, Military Programs to work alongside Senior MRB Engineers and learn Landing Gear MRB Engineering roles and responsibilities (as summarized by the job description below). You will be provided exposure to all facets of Landing Gear manufacturing/assembly/test and experience in performing daily tasks associated with the Senior MRB Engineering position in the Military Business Unit. In addition, you will be assigned special tasks by the Manager of MRB Engineering.
- This is an on-site position based out of our Fort Worth, TX site location
- May be eligible for relocation.
- Gain experience in evaluating nonconforming material for acceptability and flightworthiness (i.e. Scrap, Rework, Repair and Use as is). The nonconforming conditions will vary significantly by material, type, severity and stage in which they are discovered.
- During evaluation of nonconforming product, determine if there is an impact to:
- Functional interfaces
- Structural integrity of the part
- Metallurgical concerns such as reduced mechanical properties
- Repair and Overhaul capability
- Weight, Appearance, Aerodynamics, Interchangeability, Maintainability
- When required, coordinate discrepancies and subsequent repair disposition with internal functional groups as determined by the MRB Engineer.
- If part is evaluated and deemed to be not acceptable as is, determine if/how the part can be repaired, and provide concise and thorough instructions to restore the part to an acceptable condition.
- Assist in providing technical support when required, directly on the shop floor or via email/telecon to various groups regarding MRB issues, and often times non-MRB issues. Technical support is often provided to the various machine shops, plating shops, assembly shops, Quality Clinics, Supply chain management, program teleconferences, and vendors.
- Support Customer Service Department on warranty issues and product returns.
- Perform other duties as required
- Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant aerospace experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Experience working in an Aerospace manufacturing environment
- Proficient with CATIA V5
- Good understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.
- Familiar with Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and ERP systems such as SAP, Matrix, SmarTeam, Citrix
- Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE
- Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application
