- Leads design, drafting and testing activities to ensure smooth and effective operations.
- Works with Operations team and US customers
- Develops budgets and estimates labor and material costs to ensure cost effectiveness of design activities.
- Guides and directs the preparation of new or revised designs, drawings and working plans to improve Aircraft lighting product design and facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Interfaces with functional departments in preparing work schedules.
- Provides technical guidance and assists in training engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.
- Encourages best practices and fosters cross-departmental collaboration.
- Participates in Engineering Change Management Process
- Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings, sketches.
- Tools/fixtures design and fabrication.
- Experience on CI – Lean and/or 6 sigma / Root Cause Analysis
- Experience on managing projects for new product development and derivative product development.
- Knowledge on product design and development life cycle.
- Good knowledge on DO178, DO160, DO254 development process
- Ability to understand customer requirements and prepare development plan.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan and schedule which is in line with customer requirements.
- Identify project risks and opportunity, maintain efficiently and effectively.
- Track, compile project information and present the project status reports to management.
- Scope control and manage scope change effectively through change management process.
- Good communication with internal team, management, and customer.
- Facilitate and coordinate technical design reviews, including meeting agenda, minutes, decisions, key conclusions, and action items.
- Track project milestone, earned value, SPI, and CPI
- Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel, and Presentation
- Effective communicates with business units in USA.
- Team Player and Interpersonal skill to work with cross functional team.
- Attention to details to ensure high quality work to customers.
- 7 to 9 years of Industry experience with experience in New Product Development / Manufacturing / Project Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or master’s in mechanical design /manufacturing / production engineering
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in managing product design and development projects.
- Experience in Mechanical Design / Manufacturing Process/ Project Engineering
- Knowledge on machine design, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to manage projects independently (work allocation, resource & schedule management)
