Salesforce is currently seeking a Data Governance Program Manager to join our Real Estate Technology Enablement & Data Insights team. This role is pivotal in harnessing the power of data to inform strategic decisions across our extensive real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in developing and implementing data governance policies, frameworks, or strategies, along with a consistent track record of ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations.
As a Data Governance Program Manager, you will be a leader in our efforts to optimize our operations and enhance the workplace experience through insightful, data-driven strategies. You will champion data quality initiatives, establishing trust in our real estate and workplace data and enabling our internal real estate and workplace services (REWS) customers to access accurate data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Governance Champion: Spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework. Establish clear policies, standards, and processes for data quality, lineage, ownership, and access.
- Data Quality Assurance: Develop and lead regular data audits and reviews to identify and eliminate inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated data sources. Implement proactive reporting and monitoring mechanisms to catch potential data quality issues.
- Data Integration and Cohesion: Collaborate with IT and other partners to streamline data integration processes, optimize data flows, and find opportunities to enhance the interconnectedness of real estate and workplace data.
- Source of Record Establishment: Define and enforce source-of-record data points, ensuring consistency and minimizing the risk of conflicting or duplicated data.
- Documentation & Data Management Software: Lead real estate's adoption of the IT-recommended data management software (OpenMetadata). Leverage the tool to automate success metrics of the program and monitor data quality. Drive the data governance council usage of the tool for documenting glossaries, data dictionaries, data lineage, and other key procedures.
- Data Accessibility and Empowerment: Develop user-friendly tools, guidelines, and training to enable REWS teams to easily find, understand, and confidently use accurate and relevant data for their decision-making. Work closely with the analytics team to ensure the right data points are being shared with REWS teams.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Lead a monthly data governance forum to facilitate multi-functional collaboration, communicate updates, and build a data-driven culture within the REWS organization. Partner closely with the analytics team to ensure data integrity and alignment with metric calculations.
- Interdepartmental Data Collaboration: Work with partner teams such as IT and HR to define data sharing protocols, ensuring the proper exchange of information between teams and optimizing insight into real estate data across the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data analysis, ideally within the real estate industry.
- Demonstrable understanding of data quality principles, data modeling techniques, and data lineage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Superb communication and collaboration skills; ability to bridge the gap between technical and business partners.
