Job Summary: This position is in a rapidly growing business area that serves Department of Defense, Civil/Environmental and other advanced customers – delivering space ground C2 systems, data and information, and space range/electronic warfare solutions. Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Responsible for leading all aspects of an internal research and development project. Typically, the projects run for one full calendar year and are incrementally funded on a quarterly basis starting in January.
- Project leadership responsibility includes managing a budget, schedule and team however, more importantly the PI will own and drive a vision for the technology being developed. Another key facet of the role is to ensure technology development supports future growth and is transferable to pursuits and proposals.
- Rapidly changing customer needs, and limited internal resources, requires the PI to be a creative problem solver, able to self-initiate plans and tasks for the team; while at the same time integrate with other key MSP and Space Systems stakeholders such as the Technical Director(s), Pursuit Chief Engineers, Requirements and Capabilities leaders and other PI’s across the organization.
- Ability to self-initiate plans and tasks to include managing a budget, schedule and team
- Ability to drive a vision for the technology being developed and communicate that vision to your team and all levels of the organization
- Proven project and/or team leadership experience in any engineering discipline background
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to enable effective communication of status, issues, and resolution plans across all major stakeholders
- Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all levels of the organization and support organizations
- Experience in leading an Agile Software Development Team
- Experience as an SME in Tactical Mission Management solutions for satellite systems
- Experience in performing Software cost and sizing estimations to align with budgets and team efficiency
- Typically requires A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
