We're looking for a Engineering Manager, Network Systems and Applications to lead the Engineering team that is responsible for the day-to-day support and upgrade of the AGN system which seamlessly unites the flow of data across the aircraft, airline and ground applications. In this role, you will exercise your leadership skills by setting the standards and direction for a group of highly skilled and driven engineers who will be engineering the modernization and overhaul of the world’s largest Air-to-Ground airline operation and air traffic communication system over the next 5 years. YOU will play a pivotal role in this high growth and high visibility area of the Collins Aerospace company. What YOU will do:
- You will lead the NMS and Applications Team supporting the overall engineering roadmap and organizational objectives identified in annual Engineering Operating Plan (EOP) and Strategic Financial Plan (SFP).
- You will be responsible for the development, test and implementation of new network management solutions and technologies as well as capacity and performance application solutions and technologies in support of the worldwide AGN infrastructure comprised of multiple network distribution/datacenters and 3000+ edge locations.
- You will develop a high performing staff that maintains the day-to-day configuration needs and technical obsolescence of the AGN system while maintaining 99.999% availability.
- You will execute the portion of the annual Engineering Operating Plan (EOP) and Strategic Financial Plan (SFP) assigned to the team by the product leaders with predictable project performance.
- You will develop team members through mentoring, coaching, and progressive technical and leadership assignments.
- You will effectively roll out of changing Engineering practices in alignment with Raytheon Technologies Values and Behaviors.
- You will learn how to design solutions and lead innovative systems that will drive the next generation of growth for the aviation industry.
- You will learn to develop solutions with cross discipline engineering teams
- You will learn to represent Collins Aerospace in industry forums Implementing architectural changes and customer-driven enhancements to complex systems. Complex systems typically involved multiple servers, interfaces, networks, and databases. Experience with full life-cycle - development, test, implementation, and long-term support.
- Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
- Experience with designing, planning and implementing LAN-WANs using the industry standard technologies requiring near 100% availability, near zero latency, low jitter and response times.
- Proven experience with large scale Wide Area Network Infrastructure environments comprised of routers, switches, firewalls, security appliances and applications.
- Must have significant understanding of and demonstrated experience with network and applications management concepts, technologies and techniques in a large LAN/WAN environment such as; SNMP v1/v2/v3, polling/traps, Syslog and Netflow.
- Active CCNA or CCNP certification or familiarity with Cisco networking products configuration and operations.
- Understanding of formal configuration management processes.
- Familiarity with daily operations of a data center or large NOC environment.
