Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 3:30pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer weeks of on-the-job training. Weeks of training Duration dependent on need of candidate. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule. *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise daily/weekly/monthly activities of a 15-person team including setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met.
- Coordinate work activities with other supervisors, managers, departments, etc.
- Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and annual performance reviews as well as formal corrective action.
- Communicate with appropriate parties regarding appeals and grievance issues, implications, and decisions.
- Analyze and identify trends for all appeals and grievances.
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent years of work experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 1+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
- 1+ years of experience in a claim, appeals or grievance’s role within GEHA.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing and solving problems in an office, claims or customer service environment.
- Experience with GEHA members
- Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications.

- Reside within Kansas City, MO
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
- Ability to multi-task including the ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product.
