We are seeking candidates that are passionate about systems engineering with the ability to thrive in a highly technical environment. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work on projects spanning the entire development lifecycle, including pursuit and order capture, requirements development, system design, software/hardware development & integration and Systems Test & Verification/Validation. The candidate will work closely with other systems engineers, software, hardware, and support staff to ensure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of the product lifecycle. The candidate must have a demonstrated understanding of the systems engineering development process and will potentially lead or participate in all phases of the process to develop our next generation of communication products. Primary Responsibilities:
- System requirements capture, design, decomposition, and traceability.
- Develop and verify test procedures at the system and sub-system levels.
- Created models of the architecture (physical and logical), as well as the behavior at the system, sub-system, and product/box level.
- Plan project level work and meet schedule, cost, and performance goals.
- Effectively manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects.
- Effectively interact with Engineering Management and team developers, Program Management, Business Development, and Finance.
- Understanding of manufacturing build, test, quality, and customer acceptance review processes.
- This position may require 10 to 20% travel.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience in system level design definition.
- Experience creating system, subsystem, and functional requirements including traceability.
- Experience with project scheduling and strategic planning.
- Experience with earned value management.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with tools such as DOORS/Jama, MATLAB, C++, and Python
- Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (CAMEO) for developing architectures and functional analysis.
- Ability to learn program pursuit and capture (concept development, writing and costing)
- Familiarity with military concepts of operations
- Acquainted with radio performance standards (military, commercial, FAA)
- User of systems engineering tools for requirements capture, behavioral modeling/simulation (e.g. UML modeling with use-cases and sequence diagrams), peer reviews, configurationand change management.
