The Agile Hardware Solutions (AHS) department is responsible for improving the cost competitiveness of the work products developed by Mechanical Engineering, through workforce efficiency, process standardization and tool optimization. AHS is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Accelerated Learning & Rapid Prototyping section as a member of the collaborative team.
- The position is in Tewksbury, MA and is a hybrid role.
- Utilize CREO CAD tool for modeling and documentation creation.
- Create documents per Raytheon guidelines and release them in the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
- Perform 3D laser scanning activities in support of hardware measurement, hardware inspection, hardware reverse engineering and 3D documentation applications.
- Support end-to-end rapid prototyping from initial requirement development, to design, to procurement, to fabrication, to integration and test.
- Operate and maintain small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) in support of aerial photography and videography, photogrammetry modeling, and aerial payload testing.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Engineering experience in mechanical design and manufacturing
- Experience with portable Coordinated Measurement Machine (CMM), 3D scanner for metrology and/or reverse engineering applications.
- Experience in working with scan data post processing software such as InnovMetric PolyWorks, Oqton Geomagic Design-X and/or related.
- Experience in Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) applications.
- Experience in CAD modeling tools.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience using CREO Parametric and Windchill Product Data Management (PDM)
- Experience in polymer additive manufacturing process and workflow.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to translate data into stories for internal customers.
- Willingness to travel domestically.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
- Background check and drug screen required (every external new hire in the U.S.)
- Drug Screen only performed on re-hires who have been gone for more than 1 year.
- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
- Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
- Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
