The payroll manager will oversee all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely payments of employees. Will collaborate with various stakeholders and business partners to provide exceptional service to support the business, growing employee population and increased compliance requirements.
The payroll manager must possesses strong knowledge of India payroll regulation, exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. This also requires the payroll manager the need to have the management skills to lead, supervise and motivate a team and must handle the pressure well when working to tight deadlines and overlapping priorities.
Roles and Responsibility:
Oversee and supervise the end-to-end payroll operations processing, including salary calculations,deductions and preparing payroll reports including income tax returns and provident fund filling.
Audit the payroll accuracy and ensure compliance with the Indian applicable laws, statutory requirements, SOX requirements and company policies while processing payroll.
Collaborate with the different stakeholders and business partners for payroll related activities and requirements such as new hires, terminations, benefits program, finance and others as needed.
Supervise and lead the India payroll team on their day-to-day operations and deliverables. This includes managing the different payroll providers, and tracking their SLA/KPIs while maintaining good working relationships.
Participate to business partner and stakeholders meetings as required and assist the business to provide an informed decision related to payroll operations or support as needed.
Monitor and provide the necessary guidance to resolve employee enquiries, escalations, payroll discrepancies and provide the necessary resolutions promptly and accurately.
Stay updated on all payroll related regulations, tax law and industry trends and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance and best practices.
Manage and maintain the payroll operation processes effectively and efficiently, and implement process improvements and enhancements as necessary.
Handle the employee related communications such as tax year end processes, income tax declarations, payroll changes and/or deductions to ensure employees and respective business partners are well informed.
Acts as the subject matter expect (SME) related to internal, external, SOX and statutory payroll audits to ensure timely responses and support as required are provided.
Manage the different payroll outsourced vendors and providers (e.g. ADP, JSS Pro, Infosys, SPA)to ensure necessary services and SLAs are being adhere and meet.
Participate in any payroll-related projects and ensure to implement promptly and timely. This may include opportunities to participate in a regional projects and initiatives.
7+ years of experience in payroll management in a managerial role. Having an experience in regional payroll management is an advantage.
In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, labour laws, taxation and statutory compliance in India.
Excellent understanding of payroll related aspects of Indian labour laws, such as the Employee’s Provident Fund (EPF) Act, Gratuity Act and Professional Tax Act.
Good organizational and time management skills to meet strict payroll deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with
the different stakeholders, business partners and employees.
Experience working in a payroll outsourced to ADP Streamline, ADP Globalview is preferred.
Experience in handling payroll audits, SOX and compliance assessments.
Ability to adapt to changing payroll regulations, system, processing among others.
