- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience with product or regulatory counseling.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of attorney level experience.
- Knowledge of global content, privacy, and security, consumer protection, copyright, and competition laws.
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment with limited direction, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects at once.
- Ability to apply Google’s risk principles and make risk calls with imperfect information.

The Assistant and Gemini Product Legal team provides front-line product, privacy, and regulatory counseling and support to the Assistant and Gemini apps' Product and Engineering teams, as well as marketing, UX, Public Relations/communications and other cross-functional clients. The team works closely with many other product areas, legal and specialist teams to address global privacy and regulatory issues arising from consumer product launches. We also help Product teams prepare for upcoming global laws and regulations, and provide support on regulatory investigations relating to Assistant and Gemini apps.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $195,000-$293,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Provide individual product, privacy, and regulatory counseling for various consumer product launches.
