As the Senior Accounts Receivable Clerk - Team Lead, you’ll play a critical role in creating a quality experience that impacts the financial well-being of our patients. In an environment where the patient is at the center of everything we do, the Senior Accounts Receivable Clerk - Team Lead play an important role on a team that supports the Accounts Receivable department by performing combinations activities. Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists in documenting standard operating procedures and business rules for the department
- Communicates with superiors, peers, employees, internal and external customers, and others, as appropriate, on a regular basis, assuring proper flow of information
- Assists in resolving problems relating to all areas of Patient/Third Party billings and missing information
- Responds to patient complaints and escalated issues to ensure the appropriate action for resolution occurs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure continuous improvement in processes
- Maintains current knowledge of billing requirements, denials and system practices
- 3+ years of experience in insurance billing
- 1+ year of experience in patient, client, or third-party insurance billing
- Advanced level of proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes solid keyboard and navigation skills and ability to learn new computer programs
- Experience with approvals for procedures
- Knowledge of insurance portals
- Superior Customer Service
- Solid organizational skills
- Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment requiring solid multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to resolve calls, avoiding escalated complaints
- Ability to exhibit empathy and be courteous to customers
- Ability to triage and handle escalated situations
- Ability to adapt to changes
- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships
