Production Technicians drive the pace of operation and the quality requirements necessary to meet our internal and external customer needs. You will be working closely with 10-20 other Technicians that will be building various parts for both the Commercial and US military Industries. - Receive detailed written instructions from the supervisor, lead technician, or an engineer. Judgments and decisions at this level are guided by clearly described procedures and instructions, and the work consists of recurring steps involved in the assembly of parts, subassemblies, and larger components.
- Fabricate parts using products and processes which are varied but generally not complex in scope.
- Load and operate ovens. Adheres to equipment requirements and the method and sequences of operation to be followed in fabrication of parts using materials such as polyurethane, and like materials.
- Layout, pre-fits, assembles and casts polyurethane and like material on a variety of molds and surfaces.
- Select tooling and materials compatible with the processing techniques identified in the work instructions.
- Verify work to ensure a defect free part prior to presenting to quality control (inspection).
- Provide specialized technical assistance and interacts with team members to implement solutions.
- Operate large manual, electric & pneumatic tools in the assembly and disassembly of large heavy steel structures, molds and fixtures.
- Work continuously in prolonged physically demanding postures.
- Employee will be required to handle regulated and hazardous wastes and materials.
- Safely work in a team environment rigging, lifting and transporting large parts and equipment.
- Read and interpret planning documents.
- Apply your skill in the use of production tools.
- Use computers to record data (excel), track time (Autotime).
- Be available for limited overtime when required to meet project schedule.
- Work assignments require moderate to strenuous effort. Workers must climb, bend, perform task on elevated surfaces, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces. Will frequently lift parts and equipment that weigh up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds). Occasionally, may lift and carry items that weigh up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds) with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers, if required.
- Hot environment (typically around 80 degrees F).
- Occasional exposure to chemicals, wearing a respirator when required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent is required, in absence of a diploma 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Must possess minimum 6 months experience with basic general tool experience (example-hammer, tape measure, calipers, screw drivers, saws etc.)
- Must be willing and able to obtain certification to operate a powered industrial vehicle such as cranes, power lifts, forklifts.
- Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing, industrial or labor position.
- Prior aerospace industry with rubber products or composites experience is highly desirable.
- Active Security Clearance is highly desirable.
