Autodesk's Entertainment and Media Solutions (EMS) group creates award-winning desktop and cloud software for the media and entertainment industries, used for 3d modeling, animation, rendering, VFX, film finishing, production management, and more.
EMS' Experience Design (XD) team is hiring a Principal Design Program Manager who will report to our Director of Experience Design Standards. The goal of our Experience Design Standards team is to drive design impact, collaborating closely with the XD teams to produce the design artefacts to help us scale and deliver consistent, efficient, and productive user experiences. You will ensure the operational readiness of the XD Standards team projects and the highest priority projects across the whole Experience Design team. You are a systems thinker who is an excellent communicator and collaborator. You are skilled in both managing established programs, which require strong organization, communication, and task management skills, and in identifying opportunities for improvement, applying a design- first mindset to create successful solutions. You'll help us with scalability, from strategic thinking to detailed tactical implementation.

Responsibilities
Deliver resource plans for assigning best XD resources to top priority programs and projects
Work with XD's Chief of Staff to determine priorities within the XD organization
Develop thoughtful strategies to maximize the XD team's influence on product development and design processes
Build trusted relationships with XD, Product, and Engineering teams across Autodesk
Develop project plans, scope, and schedule. Assist team members in planning, estimating, and monitoring tasks. Develop action plans to mitigate risks and to identify alternative solutions
Drive communication and collaboration across offices and time zones and across multiple teams including Designers, Engineers, Product Owners, Product Managers, Software Architects / Tech Leads, and key stakeholders within other internal teams
Monitor programs to ensure completion within defined schedule, and quality parameters
Organize program team meetings and communications to keep team members informed and engaged
Drive the advancement of DesignOps effectiveness and scalability through the implementation of innovative processes, collaboration with stakeholders, and fostering growth across Autodesk teams
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
8+ years design program management experience with complex design projects and programs in matrixed organizations
Familiarity with user-centered design practices, UX tools and techniques, and software development methods, primarily Agile
Strong track record of managing and completing initiatives successfully
Experience working with and influencing cross-functional teams to align goals and efforts
Demonstrated strong writing, reporting, and documentation skills (examples may be required)
Experience developing written communications and delivering presentations
Preferred Qualifications
Media and Entertainment industry experience
Experience and high competence in industry-standard design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma etc.)
Experience implementing personalized and dynamic user experiences

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $108,800 and $149,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
