To find out more about AST please, click the link below: Applied Signal Technology: WHO WE ARE **This is an ONSITE position based in Salt Lake City, UT location** *Relocation Assistance is provided* Our team has a need for a Software Engineer II who is inspired by a job that challenges you to be proactive, make decisions and generate ideas that will push products above and beyond. You will contribute to the build, test and delivery of a set of software applications to be deployed to advanced systems that process modern communications for the U.S. Government. The successful candidate will be skilled at the integration and maintenance of a product, including debugging issues to root causes. The successful candidate will also have a solid understanding of concepts related to networking, software architecture, and standard programming practices. In this position you will work on complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative. Application of advanced technical principles, theories and concepts will be necessary while contributing to the development of new principles and concepts. After the proper clearance is obtained, there will be opportunities to work on actual field deployments of the product under development, ensuring proper setup, configuration, and functionality of systems being deployed. Work will be performed with guidance of a product lead and team members who will assist in establishing an approach, perform code review and support in testing to achieve long-range goals and objectives. Required Skills:
- Typically requires minimum of 2 years of experience developing C++ in a Linux environment
- Experience with one or more scripting languages, Python, Linux script, bash
- Experience with Object Oriented Design and Development
- Experience working both in a team environment and individually
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD a Top Secret/SCI or higher clearance
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 0 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet TS/SCI eligibility requirements.
- U.S. citizenship is required to be eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with Qt
- Experience with User Interface development
- Experience with Angular web GUI development
- Experience and/or knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP
- Experience in development embedded software
- Experience with Multithreading
- Experience in integrating software with hardware
- Experience with or basic understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and/or signal processing
- Experience with Configuration Management tools, such as git
- Experience maintaining and using build processes (makefiles, CMake)
- Experience with or basic understanding of ITU Standards
- Existing TS/SCI clearance (Active within the last 24 months)
