Candidates who express an interest may be considered for future positions at Northrop Grumman.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring an Engineering Technician 3 to support our Avionics Integration West organization.The position is located in Palmdale, California.Duties for this position include:
- Build, integrate, test, and maintain communications hardware in laboratory and field settings ranging in complexity from single rack of equipment to 10+ racks.
- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Build systems using engineering drawings, configuration & recovery documentation, startup & shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, as well as post-delivery support.
- Support the build and installation of custom cables and wire harness assemblies as well as tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams.
- Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics), and the performance of detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas.
- Conduct preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency, and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or relevant experience.
- Experience with interpreting engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
- Working experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.
- Working experience with industry standards for connectors including, but not limited to D38999, Dsub, twinax, RJ45, etc.
- Must be physically able to move up to 50 lbs.
- Must have color vision to identify cables and wires.
- Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation date within the last 5 years
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs (SAP). This SAP must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
