Team Profile: 

The Cyber, Data, Risk and Resilience (CDRR) organization within Technology at Morgan Stanley, provides first-line defenses for information and cyber security, fraud, resilience, response and recovery, and technology risk and controls. The organization also includes Morgan Stanley’s Firmwide Data Office, International Technology offices, and the Non-Financial Risk Technology organization. The combination of these groups, in close partnership with the business and technology teams, enhance the resilience of the Firm, address the complex and continuously evolving threat environment, drive compliance with policy and regulatory requirements, and ensure data governance, quality and security.

Position Description:

The Cloud Security Organization is seeking a Backend Software Developer to help build modern cloud security services. The candidate will play a key role in delivering firm's cloud security initiatives. We look first and foremost for technologists who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices and can thrive in a highly regulated environment. In this role you’ll be responsible for the development and deployment of applications supporting the security of the firm’s cloud initiatives. Furthermore, you’ll be building and integrating security services into the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities:

•    Combine your design and development expertise to deliver world-class and low-friction security services.
•    Produce extensible and maintainable code, primarily in Python and Golang.
•    Architect and build highly available cloud native services
•    Integrate security services with existing SDLC tooling at the firm.
•    Work on a DevOps team, where you will be responsible for both the development and operations of mission critical security services

Required Skills:

•    Bachelor’s in computer science, Computer engineering or related field.
•    5+ years of Backend Software Development experience in any backend programming language such as Python, Golang, C++ or Java. 
•    Experience working on an agile team
•    Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple engineering teams

Desired Skills:

•    Experience designing and building cloud-native production systems 
•    Experience with infrastructure security or another security discipline.
•    Experience writing infrastructure as code such as Terraform
•    Cloud Provider certification(s)
•    Experience with policy-as-code tools such as OPA and Rego
•    Experience designing and building APIs and large-scale data pipelines
•    Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
•    Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure or GCP) certification(s)
