Job Profile Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical platform behind the products and services used by the Business.
MSIM strives to provide outstanding long-term investment performance, service and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse client base, which includes governments, institutions, corporations and individuals worldwide.

The individual will be working on the Sales and Distribution IT team. Sales IT is responsible for defining technology strategy in-line with business goals and providing solutions in a very dynamic environment. Sales Platform is a distributed system with several integrated components, providing customized CRM functionality, data/process integration with firm-systems, business intelligence through Reporting & Analytics and data-driven Marketing & Lead Generation.

Role & Responsibilities

• This position focuses on all stages of SDLC starting from analyzing the Requirements, Designing, Coding, Testing and Deployment of the Sales Platform components. Candidate will be expected to be very hands-on and pick-up domain knowledge. We focus on solving the problem and not to be tied down by technology choices - it is extremely important that you are open to learn & work with technologies that are new to you.
• We are seeking a strong programmer [any programming language Java / C# / Python] with experience in designing, developing, and testing multi-tier systems who is either expert on Salesforce Cloud technologies or willing to learn and work on Salesforce technologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit is required in addition to proficiency in verbal and written business communications. This job demands strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple priorities. As part of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing a body of knowledge that is accessible to all team members. We support what we build - you will be responsible for post-production support on a rotation basis. It is very important that candidate is self-motivated and can run independently with minimal supervision.

Skills Required:

 

• At least 3 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with the mentioned relevant years of professional experience as a developer in the data and analytics space.
• Strong experience with object-oriented or function scripting languages: Java, C#, Python etc.
• Strong experience in database development (Snowflake, SQL Server/Oracle/Sybase/DB2) in designing schema, complex procedures, complex data scripts, query authoring (SQL), and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and understand data
• Strong knowledge of software development and the system implementation life cycle is a must.
• Experience developing, testing & supporting multi-tier technology architectures.
• Should be comfortable with Unix / Linux, shell-scripting, Excel.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Azure Data Factory) and pipelines across disparate sources is a plus.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure and Databricks is a plus.
