Investment Management - Designated Person for Fund Risk – Vice President

Reporting to the FMIL Head of Risk, the successful candidate will hold the regulatory approved role of PCF-39C, Designated Person (DP) for Fund Risk. The candidate will drive initiatives and processes associated with the DP role, support the production of any regular or ad hoc reporting, manage any identified issue through to resolution and perform other activities as delegated by the Head of Risk. The individual is also responsible for being one of the primary points of contact regarding fund risk matters under FMIL.
The selected candidate will also have responsibility for supporting and, at times, managing the delivery of any strategic and tactical initiatives to improve the function’s capabilities.

What will you be doing?
• Acting as the Designated Person for Fund Risk Management (subject to CBI approval)
• Ensuring fund risk framework is fit for purpose and aligned with current regulatory guidance
• Overseeing the identification, assessment, measurement and reporting of fund risks both internally and for delegates including but not limited to liquidity, counterparty, market and regulatory.
• Identifying and escalating risk issues to key stakeholders
• Responsibility for senior management & board reporting including suggesting topics for the agenda
• Consulting with internal groups such as Compliance, Legal, Surveillance, and Operations on matters related to fund risk, regulatory matters and infrastructure projects
• Supporting regulatory & strategic deliverables for risk
• Working with business partners and control groups to strengthen the risk & control framework
• Reviewing risk polices & procedures in line with management company framework
• Reviewing information flow for oversight and suggest improvements
• Providing regular management information reporting
• Operating as a representative to Risk committees and working groups
• Leading exercises to strengthen and approve risk processes

What we’re looking for:
• Demonstrated financial services experience in risk management, compliance or audit
• Previous experience in a regulator, regulated role or in a management company is preferable
• Strong understanding of CBI and CSSF regulatory requirements
• Strong knowledge of buy-side business is required
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to think strategically and independently
• Strong relationship management skills and ability to facilitate discussions with senior management participants
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills with external directors
• Ability to coordinate projects and deliverables across multiple regions
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Previous or current holder of Designated Person role
• MBA, CFA or FRM holder
• Knowledge of both public and private markets
