Technical Business Analyst - Vice President – CDRR – Firmwide Data Office

Profile Description

We’re seeking someone to join our team as Business Analyst position for a technical product used by development teams across the firm to catalog their technical system metadata into the Firmwide Data Catalog within the SDLC process. The capabilities of the product enable several data governance outcomes to be met and includes core engineering work to integrate various applications to central Firmwide Data Catalog and Data Quality controls. The candidate will lead discussions to understand needs of stakeholders and translate these into capabilities/features to be delivered through the squad, and advocate for the adoption of the product across the firm.

The Cybersecurity organization's mission is to create an agile, adaptable organization with the skills and expertise needed to defend against increasingly sophisticated adversaries. This will be achieved by maintaining sound capabilities to identify and protect our assets, proactively assessing threats and vulnerabilities and detecting events, ensuring resiliency through our ability to respond to and recover from incidents and building awareness and increase vigilance while continually developing our cyber workforce.

Firmwide Data Office

Data COE team is distributed globally between New York, London, Budapest, India, and Shanghai; and are engaged in a wide array of projects touching all business units (Institutional Securities, Investment Management, Wealth Management) and functions (e.g., Operations, Finance, Risk, Trading, Treasury, Resilience) across the Firm. The team vision is a multi-year effort to simplify firm’s data architecture and business processes front-to-back with goals of reducing infrastructure and manpower costs, improving the ability to demonstrate control of data, empowering developers by providing consistent means of handling data, facilitate data-driven insights & decision making, and providing a platform to implement future change initiatives faster, cheaper, and easier.

Technical Specialist

This is a Vice President position within our Technical Specialist function, which is responsible for providing extensive subject matter expertise and reinforcing the ability of business and technology audit teams to appropriately assess risk and determine and execute coverage.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Bring in your experience of 10+ years in Tech BA role & Identify capabilities/features to meet needs of the customer, translate into user stories.
• Stakeholder management (across divisions, programs, and fleet) and understand/advocate the relative priority of capabilities/features for the product.
• Collaborate with squad to refine user stories and shape solutions.
• Leading Product Reviews to share advancements in the product and to collect ‘voice of the customer’ feedback.
• Present requirements/business design into decision making forums to govern decisions.
• Ensure consistency and interoperability of their product with other products in the platform.
• Maximizing the product’s value; ensure measurable adoption of new capabilities and features. Publishing documentation, guidance, and training for the product.
• Participate in transforming the firm towards a Data Driven culture.
• Build relationships and influence senior stakeholders across the firm.
• Develop domain expertise in Data Governance and Enterprise Metadata Management.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Career experience as Technical Business analyst along with Financial Services industry experience with a solid understanding of Capital Markets/Banking/ Finance domain.
• Ability to conduct data analysis to make data driven decisions.
• Understanding of software enterprise architecture patterns, software development processes, and tools that developers use to deploy their changes as a part of CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of methods used by systems to communicate/transfer data (e.g. databases, APIs, files, message queues).
• Ability to create detailed user stories, working with users and squad to refine stories.
• Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Agile software development practices, TDD, Continuous Integration.
Good to have -
• Experience on Data Governance - Concepts, Policies and Principles.
• Certifications relevant to Governance, Modelling, Architecture
• Experience in any Data Governance Tool like Collibra etc.
• Hands on software development experience.

At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
