We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Dir, Advanced Specialist, Client Services & Relationship Mgmt IM in IM Operations to MSIM Operations group supports the equity, fixed income, and alternative businesses for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services(including client reporting), portfolio transition management, market registration, product data maintenance and performance and attribution analysis.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Advanced Specialist position at Director level within the Client Service & Relationship Management, which is responsible for managing internal and external client relationships. We do this by engaging in client service activities, optimizing the client experience, and managing vendor/external business partner relationships.

What you'll do in the role:

·         Manage complex processes and/or support significant process management/project efforts -Lead in process improvement, project management or technology development and testing across multiple teams and/or divisions

·         Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues or non-standard issues, identify risks, root causes and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution

·         Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations

·         Dealing with internal / external client regular / ad hoc requests and troubleshooting problems.

·         Communicating and working closely with sales representatives to provide high quality service to clients.

·         Day-to-day liaison with Investment managers, Portfolio Specialists, and Marketing team.

·         Build relationships with global and local stakeholders, ensuring clients receive the best possible service.

·         Using strong business sense and judgment to identify potential risk areas: making appropriate recommendations and highlighting those risks via the appropriate escalation channels.

·         Produce daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly / semi-annual /annual/ ad-hoc reports for public pension clients, private pension clients, financial institutional clients, and intermediary clients (including reporting to consultants).

·         Maintenance of account and counterparty lists.

·         Maker/Checker process in place for all the deliverables.

·         Liaison with Trust Banks when required.

·         Work on reporting efficiency improvement initiatives, such as automation, streamlining, process engineering, etc.

·         Participation in and contribution to global and local projects and initiatives.

What you'll bring to the role:

·         Front-to-back knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets and instruments that influence their team with a comprehensive understanding of job-related operational/compliance policies and procedures

·         Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget -Ability to address non-standard issues within area of expertise Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you

·         Basic knowledge of investment management business, regulations, and products.

·         Japanese Fluency and Business English language skills in both written and oral form.

·         Demonstrated communication ability and able to articulate complex situations.

·         Self-starter, problem solver, detail oriented and strong team worker who is proactive.

·         Strong skills in time management, multi-tasks, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.

·         Self-motivated and possess a positive working mindset.

·         Work well in a team environment.

·         Effective communicator within the Global Operations in a conference call.

·         Strong leadership with accountability.

·         PC literacy (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point)

·         Good knowledge of financial products and market.

·         Able to interact and communicate effectively across cultural and hierarchical lines within the firm.

·         Ability to identify problems and potential risks as they arise and understand when they need to be escalated.

·         At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role

·         Experience in a client service mindset is preferred.

·         PC literacy (VBA, Access, PowerBI, or a similar tool)

·         Skills on Bloomberg / Syntax / Factset / T-Star

·         Skills on Trust Bank Statement and fund accounting procedure.

·         Knowledge of investment management business related Japanese Laws and regulations.
