Morgan Stanley Level 2/3 Production Management - Vice President - Cyber Data Risk and Resilience (CDRR) Profile Description We’re seeking someone to join our team as (Title) Vice President. We are growing our team globally. It's a unique opportunity to work on leading edge projects leveraging the latest technologies such as Cloud solutions and Analytics. The primary objective of the team is to ensure reliability across the production plant by developing a deep understanding of how our application code is running, configured, and scaled. This allows us to effectively resolve open incidents in the shortest amount of time, develop monitors to detect future occurrences and implement automation technologies to enable the environment to self-heal Cyber Data Risk and Resilience (CDRR) The Cybersecurity organization's mission is to create an agile, adaptable organization with the skills and expertise needed to defend against increasingly sophisticated adversaries. Specialist This is a Vice President position within our Technical Specialist function, which is responsible for providing extensive subject matter expertise and reinforcing the ability of business and technology audit teams to appropriately assess risk and determine and execute coverage. What you’ll do in the role: • Manage the expanding team in Asia in terms of coverage, rotations, and oncalls
• Be the main escalation contact for the team locally and stakeholders regionally
• Understand, Support and Maintain the Morgan Stanley Environment connectivity, data flow and network security
• Managing critical incidents and ensuring all key stakeholders are kept up to date
• Ensure Production Management is closely aligned/embedded in the Agile software development process and our code meets production standards
• Incorporate System Reliability Engineering and DevOps implementations into the day-to-day role by developing automated solutions to long standing problems to ensuring minimal downtime and manual effort
• Configure application monitors using industry standard monitoring tools, as well as developing customized monitoring solutions
• Build extensive business and application knowledge required for supporting client facing applications
• Interface with clients and other technology teams to provide governance and control around the production environment
• Attend all necessary meetings to provide guidance on their business units priorities (i.e., BU moves, hardware refreshes, enterprise-wide deployments, etc.)
• Manage major events such as disaster recoveries, maintain up to date support documentation, review weekly pipeline of changes, assess change risk, and review compliance to SLA's to cover any gaps or issue What you’ll bring to the role: • At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected, Engineering from a premium institute
• Application development (Python, HTML, Java Script) covering production support, System Reliability or relevant production support experience
• Strong communication skills with extensive experience managing large teams and help support their career growth, review/improve performance, and provide/receive feedback
• Ability to share updates on issues in both technical and business terms to various audience
• Strong presentation skills for upper management on stability metrics and governance
• Strong knowledge of DevOps and SRE Principles with grasp over tools / approach to apply them
• Strong infrastructure knowledge in Linux / Unix admin, Storage, Networking and Web Technologies
• Advanced Unix Shell / Python scripting experience
• Advanced SQL query language knowledge (Sybase, DB2 , and/or SnowFlake preferred)
