We're seeking someone to join our team as an Associate to work alongside the Data Analytics lead to develop analytics, dashboards and insights within specific coverage are of Internal Audit.

Internal Audit

The Internal Audit Department (IAD) reports directly to the Board Audit Committee, and is an objective and independent function within Morgan Stanley’s risk management framework. IAD assists senior management and the Audit Committee of the Board (BAC) in the effective discharge of their legal, fiduciary and oversight responsibilities. Comprises over 400 employees globally. IAD is responsible for providing independent assurance on the quality and effectiveness of Morgan Stanley’s system of internal control, including risk management and governance systems and processes. IAD also serves as an objective and independent function within the Firm’s risk management framework to foster continual improvement of risk management processes by identifying and assessing operating risks, and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the Firm’s related internal controls. Based on these activities, IAD develops an independent and informed view of the risks faced by Morgan Stanley and the effectiveness of the risk management processes employed to manage them. In doing so, we help drive Firm resources to vulnerabilities.

Technical Specialist

This is a Associate position within our Technical Specialist function, which is responsible for providing extensive subject matter expertise and reinforcing the ability of business and technology audit teams to appropriately assess risk and determine and execute coverage.

What you’ll do in the role:

•    Work with the Data Analytics lead and other stakeholders to establish project objectives and Define detailed requirements including, business rules and data acquisition needs
•    Analyze large, complex data sets to identify trends, patterns and produce compelling insights
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to develop user-friendly dashboards and visualizations
•    Develop processes and scripts to Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) data
•    Perform ongoing dashboard maintenance, including conducting data quality reviews
•    Collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders to build effective working relationships and to execute on team deliverables
•    Effectively manage multiple deliverables while delivering high-quality work

 

 

What you’ll bring to the role:

•   At least 3 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
•   Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computing, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
•   Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and adapt messages to audience
•   Ability to identify patterns and anomalies in data
•   A commitment to practicing inclusive behaviours
•   Willingness to solicit and provide feedback to further develop self and peers
•   Extensive experience developing dashboards in Tableau and QlikView
•   Experience using SQL, Python etc. to create complex queries for extracting and analysing data
•   Technical knowledge of data models and database design
•   Experience in Internal Audit banking and capital markets would be an advantage
•   Ability to translate complex technical data concepts and language into business context
•   Experience in related field of audit analytics in a professional services or banking and capital markets firm
•   Certifications like Tableau CISA, CISSP, Python etc. would be an advantage
•   Working understanding of data protection and data sensitivity rules and best practices
•   Experience working with global teams preferred
