Description
Wealth Management Risk functions as an in-business risk unit to provide risk assessment and risk management for investment options offered within Wealth Management. WM Portfolio Risk, within WM Risk, oversees investment risks arising from Wealth Management's various brokerage and advisory activities. Advisory includes asset management activities in Financial Advisor, Firm-affiliated, and Client discretionary programs. The Portfolio Risk team is a data-driven group that uses analytical methods to assess risks in client portfolios and to design supervision controls. The team is also tasked with providing visibility and reporting on the risk landscape to leadership. The team is seeking an analyst to contribute to maintaining various reporting streams, creating new reports and dashboards, and conducting ad hoc analyses. The responsibilities also include working with big data (e.g., sourcing raw data, transforming data as necessary, applying statistical methods, and presenting findings in a digestible manner).
Responsibilities
The candidate's primary responsibilities will include:
- Maintain the production of existing reports, metrics packages and dashboards
- Create new reports, metrics packages and dashboards (Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau)
- Conduct investigative analysis on ad-hoc basis to support the maintenance of existing supervisory controls
- Assist with development of control reporting structure based on ongoing analysis and relevant risks to the Wealth Management platform
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Tableau, and SQL are job requirements
- Experience visualizing data for reporting and end user analysis
- Practical experience with applying statistical models to solve business problems
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience
- A quantitative degree e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance
- Team player with a strong work ethic and high level of maturity
- At least a working knowledge of financial risk management concepts, with a desire to quickly acquire deeper proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and comfortable interfacing with senior personnel
- CFA or FRM or progress towards one of the two a plus
- Familiarity with Agile software development and software design patterns is a plus
