Background on the Team
We are looking for enthusiastic career-minded professionals with global perspective to join the Mumbai based Portfolio Manager Support Services Group.
This role will reside within MSIM’s Specialty Solutions Group, which manages over $40B of assets across several tax-managed equity and private offerings. The role will support the integrated business through collaborative coordination across key stakeholder functions such as Sales & Distribution, Operations,
Legal, Compliance, Risk and Tax Advisory.
The Specialty Solutions Group is a comprehensive multi-asset business, with activity across all asset strategies and types (traditional and alternative), through solutions that span fully liquid (public assets), comprehensive (public and private assets) and fully private portfolios. The role requires a self-motivated independent thinker who enjoys solving complex problems.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Play an integral role as liaison between the Portfolio Management / Business COO teams and Sales & Distribution partners (Wealth Strategies Group).
· Design and define an interactive process of identifying, supporting and engaging key population of intermediary relationships at time of new product launch, and throughout the lifecycle of the relationship / life of the fund. Define and document roles and responsibilities, as well as hand-offs and record retention requirements as part of this process.
· Partner with Marketing and WSG in maintaining inventory and availability of internal and external marketing collateral.
· Establish, coordinate and monitor evolving calendar of RFP and Due Diligence requests across products and distribution / intermediary partners; remain closely aligned with Offshore DDQ team in overseeing fulfillment of requests. Maintain a tracker of progress across intermediary firms.
· Assist in the completion and review of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and other client questionnaires, as appropriate.
· Work alongside sales and distribution to organize periodic updates, roadshows and meetings to promote SSG offerings and drive new business.
· Partner with investment teams to deliver thoughtful and timely market outlook and portfolio activity commentaries to existing and prospective clients, helping to develop industry standard reporting.
· Perform industry research to keep current on market and competitor trends, and ensure SSG’s product suite is innovative and in line with market expectations.
· Liaise with other teams within MSIM, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, to ensure successful coordination and servicing of internal and external clients, and prospective new business opportunities.
· Provide ongoing support to the office of SSG COO team on ad-hoc requests.
Skills desired
· An undergraduate in business, finance, or other related field.
· Knowledge of equity, real estate and alternative investments beneficial.
· 3-6 years of experience the financial services industry, in an investment/portfolio specialist, sales, investor relations, or business development capacity preferred.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-starter with drive to be successful and ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks without reminders.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Team player who enjoys working with others and reaching out proactively throughout the firm to gather information; consensus-builder.
· Willingness to provide exceptional ongoing and bespoke service requires flexibility, meeting tight timelines, and thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
· Experience reviewing complex financial data sets required.
· Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
