Join the ArcGIS Hub team and help us develop the next generation of civic technology. We are looking for a seasoned team member to make data, geography, and lightweight analysis more collaborative, equitable, and conversational.
The technology you help develop will enhance communication, decision-making, service delivery, and information dissemination between constituents and their representatives. You will work with colleagues and customers to understand these complex problems, validate assumptions, and deliver solutions.

ResponsibilitiesYou will work alongside product engineers and designers to strategize, implement, and deliver innovative geospatial capabilities for ArcGIS Hub.
- Develop and maintain large-scale web applications and modern web services
- Integrate advanced geospatial capabilities using the ArcGIS Maps SDK and location services
- Work collaborative as an enthusiastic member of an agile scrum team
- Ensure high-quality, reliable software through automated testing, usage telemetry, and user feedback
- Document and communicate technical architecture and roadmaps to colleagues and technical leads
- Diagnose and resolve software bugs and inefficiencies
- 5+ years working in an agile development environment as a software engineer delivering large-scale web applications built with JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, Web Components, Relational Databases, and Cloud infrastructure
- Experience using ArcGIS developer libraries including JavaScript Map SDK, ArcGIS Service API
- Demonstrable understanding of systems architecture, object-oriented design, data structures, and design patterns
- Ability to clearly describe and analyze a problem and to communicate a systems architecture and delivery plan to colleagues and technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in collaborative development environments such as Github
- Excellent time management skills to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team to deliver product capabilities incrementally
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills on technical topics
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, GIS, or a related field
- Passion for civic engagement, open-data, and open-source technology
- Experience with UI/UX thinking, Scrum methodology, Domain-driven design
- Technical leadership and management of cross-functional teams
- Master's in Computer Science, GIS, or a related field
