Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC seeks to fill the position of Assistant Vice President, Data Analytics in New York, NY.

Serve as the product owner of specific data products and data stores. Develop data-driven product strategy based on an understanding of the data sources and Wealth Management business requirements. Partner with other business stakeholders and SMEs to understand business and client needs Perform detailed hands-on data experimentations and evaluations for wealth management use cases using customer data to define, design, and test data products/features/stores. Design suitable solutions and formulate tech architecture and requirements for Wealth Management product and solutions. Implement and improve scalable data strategies and products across marketing, sales, servicing, and advisory. Develop and execute the machine learning (ML) and cloud data platforms strategy to deliver use cases to drive profitable growth for the business. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Salary:

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $137000 and $140000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Master's degree in Engineering (any), Analytics, Business Analytics, or relate plus three (3) years  of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as a Junior Associate, Analyst, Business Intelligence, or related occupation.  Requires three (3) years of experience with: partnering with cross-functional teams to identify business problems in the financial industry; experimenting and evaluating data products, features, and store; extracting insights and identifying patterns from large and complex data sets to develop data-driven strategies and products; designing, curating, and wrangling data in database/data lake solutions such as Hadoop or Snowflake; programming using SQL and Python for data analytics, data science, or machine learning; developing strategic plans for datadriven
initiatives that deliver profitable growth for the business; serving as a product owner and leading development to design; building and improving scalable data products, services, and capabilities; working closely with stakeholders to identify customer needs and developing user-focused solutions; applying data architecture principles and performing data modeling, database design, and data warehousing; building and deploying machine learning powered solutions to analyze data, identify trends, and develop predictive insights; utilizing cloud-based technologies and platforms such as AWS or Azure; designing and deploying cloud-based solutions to support data-driven products and services; and analyzing and dealing with customer confidential data.
