Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a world leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. Our broad and deep client relationships, market-leading platform and intellectual insights enable us to be a world-class service provider to our clients for their financing, market access and portfolio management needs. It covers functions across IED covering sales, trading, analytics, strats and risk management.
Primary Responsibilities
Exotic strats are responsible for implementing and supporting both the data and quant models used in exotic trading. They also look after automation of the Exotics product flow, including pricing methodology, control of the pricing platform and automated booking. They also assist with tooling for exotics trading, to improve the risk management and hedging infrastructure. Responsibilities for this role involve:
· Contributing to the development of our vanilla and structured products platform from product modelling to pricing, ordering, and life cycle events.
· Build cutting edge tools for trading and risk managing equity derivatives products.
· Implement new stochastic processes to value exotic hybrid securities and support existing library.
· Conduct analysis of complex trade to assess the best pricing method.
· Analyze and manage the risk of the positions currently in the book.
· Create tools to assist decision making & increase efficiency in trading
· Lead, groom, and develop the Exotics Strats team in Mumbai
Essential skills
· Degree with a quantitative discipline (BE, BTech, MS in Maths/Statistics/Financial Engineering) from Tier 1 institutes
· Computer Skills: strong object oriented programming skills in Java, C++, C# or Python including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design
· Very strong quantitative skills, with knowledge of Exotic Derivative models being a strong plus
· Good knowledge of Probability, Numerical Analysis, Stochastic Calculus, Approximation theory, Partial Differential Equations
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail, and a willingness to take ownership of projects
· Drive and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
Additional skills
· Option Greeks and their behavior over time
· Derivative products like Options, Futures, Swaps etc.
· General behavior of the Equity Derivatives markets – Flow and Structured Products
