Sr. SW Engineer

Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Bellevue, WA to:

• Software development of Open VisaNet, consisting of rewriting the Visa core platform from IBM Mainframe to modern tech stack.
• Build components in Golang on top of micro-services technology to implement Clearing functionalities of Visa Card Scheme.
• Rebuild some of the Clearing functions such as Message Edit, Message Parsing and Rules Application in C/C++ and interop them with Golang components.
• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, B2B, and business to government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms and Real-Time Payments.
• Position reports to the employer’s Bellevue, Washington office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
• Position requires experience in the following skills:
  • Object oriented programming.
  • C++, Java or Golang.
  • Git.
  • Testing methodologies, including unit testing for APIs, integration testing to validate interactions between different components as well as end-to-end testing to validate user scenarios, and applying all into code that tests designed components.
  • DevOps, including debugging via logging, incremental, and iterative development processes.
  • Continuous deployment and integration tooling including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • RESTful APIs, including HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE).
  • Resource oriented design.

Additional Information

Worksite: Bellevue, WA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $117,749.00 USD to $171,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
