Job Description

The Sr. Analyst for the Marketing Sourcing category leverages multiple sources of internal and external data to support the category sourcing teams that ultimately drive a competitive advantage and value for Visa Inc. As a key support role for the Global Marketing organization, you are accountable for understanding various tools, data sets and processes. You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability balance short vs. long term needs. This role will work closely with the Global and Regional category leads for Marketing Sourcing.

  • In Creative and Production, Sr. Analyst will have exposure to creative and production engagements, Regional cross-over projects and multiple cross- functional business partners to include Corporate Finance, Risk, and Marketing Legal.
  • For Market Research and Comms/PR, Sr. Analyst will have exposure to support the Global Customer Insights & Analytics (GIA) and Corporate Communications functions to enable supply market solutions for various business needs.
  • For Media and Martech and Events & Sponsorships, Sr. Analyst will have exposure to those functions to enable supply market solutions for various business needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages large datasets, and information sources to support Category leaders in development of Category Strategies, Negotiation plans, and internal discussions
  • Builds relationships and effectively partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies, and colleagues to influence change
  • Reviews and approves contracts in accordance with Global Sourcing policies, procedures and standard terms and conditions
  • Ensures contract accuracy to type of purchase and risk level
  • Provides high level education to business partners on the overall continuous strategic sourcing process from needs identification, through supplier performance management across multiple partners
  • Communicates effectively and frequently, listens carefully, and actively seeks and values the perspectives of others
  • Supports completion of simultaneous projects by implementing new alternatives and optimizing results
  • Trains our external suppliers with any operational process and / or requested trainings within our sourcing (i.e Ariba) and marketing tools (i.e Decideware)
  • Project Manages key initiatives for the Category Management team as needed
  • Supports various category leaders in the development of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) plans with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • Contributes significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and assists in driving the performance of associated suppliers, measuring supplier’s performance to ensure performance meets expectations
  • Supports the implementation of Global Sourcing policies and procedures.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • A passion for strategic sourcing and contract management..
  • A high-level understanding of the importance of Marketing within a corporate setting.
  • Proven track record of successful use of the five- or seven- step sourcing process
  • Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience
  • Knowledge of the full end to end P2P process and e-Sourcing preferred.
  • Strong relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to tell compelling stories through insights and data.
  • Highly motivated and can demonstrate a proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Strong facilitation, project management, and financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Flexible jobs can mean a lot of different things. You can have an in-office job that’s flexible because you’re allowed to set your own hours. Or because you’re allowed to work from home a certain number of days each month. It might also mean working part-time (or having the option to).

Flexible jobs can also be remote or work from home jobs in which you’re allowed to set your own schedule (though you should note, not all remote/virtual/online jobs are actually flexible - many of them assign strict hours). In conclusion, flexible jobs mean a lot of different things to different people, but if the ability to set your own schedule is important to you, you should definitely be looking for flexible jobs - regardless of whether they’re remote or in-office.

Telecommuting Jobs

A lot of jobs listed as remote jobs are actually telecommuting jobs. Telecommuting jobs are full-time roles with companies who can offer you the flexibility to work from home 99% of the time, but might need you to reside in a certain physical location or time zone due to practical constraints. These jobs are great if you want both a high degree of flexibility and stability, while remaining in your current area. They’re not ideal for would-be digital nomads.

Freelance Jobs

Freelance jobs are booming in today’s gig economy. They afford you a lot of flexibility because you set your own schedule, and oftentimes your prices. But as noted with online jobs, a lot of times, you’re “freelancing” for a company even though you’re really working for them almost full time.. But instead of paying you as a full-time employee, they’re paying you by the hour or by the product. This is often less preferable to a full-time remote job that offers more stability and better pay. That said, searching for freelance jobs online can be a helpful way to launch your own freelance career. Maybe you start doing freelance work on gig sites like Fiverr, but are ultimately able to go out on your own once you’ve built up a portfolio and client list. It’s at this point that freelance work can become truly lucrative. It’s worth noting that not all freelance work can be done remotely - depending on your skill-sets, you may need to be able to meet in person with your clients.
