Delphix is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our Americas team. The Delphix Engine is the nexus of a complex world, and we need people who can shift through the complexity and find an elegant management representation of this world. We have a world-class team, and we're looking for someone to come in and help build infrastructure, manage and configure networks in our data center and cloud environments, and secure our enterprise with proper firewall configuration and traffic routing.
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you are a problem solver first and passionate about infrastructure design and implementation with a focus on on-premise networking in a hybrid cloud ecosystem. You have diverse experience on networking protocols, route configuration, hardware management, and network design, with a proven track record of delivering secure, low-latency, reliable networking solutions that serve a global enterprise. You will be working closely with your IT teammates to build out a cohesive IT infrastructure management ecosystem, providing network expertise both on-premise and in the cloud. IT’s projects are focused on enabling other teams within Delphix by building dependable and elastic infrastructure solutions powered primarily by AWS, but not just limited to it.
Responsibilities:
- Network Management: Manage our central network hub and spoke architecture built around our Data Center and AWS
- Network Design: Design, plan, and implement complex network infrastructure, taking into account business requirements and security considerations
- Network Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve network issues, including performance problems, connectivity problems, and security vulnerabilities
- Hardware and Software Management: Manage network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and software tools for network monitoring and management. Experience with Fortinet firewalls and Ruckus switches is a plus
- Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the network from threats and vulnerabilities. This includes configuring firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
- Network Protocols: Thorough knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, and others, is essential
- Capacity Planning: Analyze network traffic and performance to ensure the network can handle current and future demands. This includes scaling the network as needed
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to IT engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Vendor Management: Work with network equipment vendors to evaluate and select hardware and software solutions
- Emerging Technologies: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions
- Compliance: Ensure network compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies
- 24/7 Support: On-call rotation within IT
Must Have:
- Exceptional communication skills
- Experience working with a Global team across different time zones
- 3-5 years of experience as Network Infrastructure Engineer working with networking tooling and hardware in a hybrid cloud environment
- In-depth experience with security and networking principles in a cloud hybrid environment
- At least 2 years in managing and supporting production systems
Key Requirements:
- Deep understanding of networking infrastructure hardware, tools, and SaaS products as well as general familiarity with cloud networking (AWS and Azure primarily)
- Proven ability implementing network configurations and network security in a hybrid cloud environment
- Proven ability implementing TCP/IP stack protocols and VLANs
- Proven ability with firewall management and configuration (Fortinet)
- Proven ability with switch and wifi/router management and configuration (Ruckus, RADIUS)
- Proven hardware installation, management, configuration, and troubleshooting experience in a traditional data center (data center operations, network wire running, fiber optic troubleshooting)
- Experience with network management tools like ManageEngine NCM and LibreNMSExperience with OneLogin (IdP), Active Directory, and LDAP authentication
- Experience with Linux and Windows servers and their related networking
Nice to have:
- Networking Certifications: Prefer Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or Fortinet NSE Associate certified or above
- AWS Certified Network Specialist or equivalent certifications from other cloud providers in networking AWS Services include: Transit Gateway, VPCs, VPN, Load Balancers, Route Tables, Subnets, Gateways (NAT and IG), Route53, WAF and Global Accelerator
- Experience with AWS Networking Hub and Spoke Architectures
- Experience with Content Delivery NetworksExperience with DNS servers both in and out of a cloud environment
- Experience with VMWare and On-Premise Servers
- Experience working with open-source network tooling
- Experience with other cloud provider networking services (Azure, GCP, OCI, and IBM Cloud)
- Experience with multi-cloud network integrations (AWS primarily with Azure, GCP, OCI, and IBM Cloud mixed in as well)
- Experience with network migrations and modernizations in an enterprise
