About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use):11 S&P Global Market Intelligence The Role: Lead Cloud Engineer Responsibilities:
- Strong proficiency in AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, R53, ELB, ALB, and VPC.
- Build, Deploy, and Manage production workloads including applications on EC2 instances, APIs on Lambda Functions, and more.
- Analyze workload requirements and work with IT stakeholders to define proper sizing for cloud workloads on AWS
- Integrate new and legacy systems onto the platform by providing deployment standards and guidance.
- Implement monitoring and highly available methods to ensure 100% uptime for pipeline consumers.
- Implement logging strategies to extract usage metrics of the platform.
- Explore solutions, architect, and contribute to the consolidation of multiple IaC strategies across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or adjacent field or equivalent work experience with 6 years of experience in cloud computing and applied solutions.
- Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTPS/TLS/Websockets, Multicast and Broadcast messaging
- Experience with scalable networking technologies, including Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, App acceleration, Load Balancers, DNS, virtual private networks, and their application in PaaS and IaaS technologies.
- Experience in writing reusable Terraform modules using 12 or higher.
- Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and technological concepts to peers and clients.
- Strong scripting background in two of the following: Python, Bash, or Powershell.
- Experience in service troubleshooting with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Eagerness to tackle complex problems with little exposure or experience.
- AWS Cloud certifications are preferred.
- Experience with DevOps engineering or SRE
- Experience with monitoring and observability such as with Datadog and Splunk
- Experience using source control (Git, GitHub) and feature branching strategies.
